Annual OECD Auditors Alliance Meeting 2023
OECD Conference Centre, Paris, France
The flagship annual meeting brought together over 150 audit professionals from 35 countries to discuss the future of public sector auditing, with a particular focus on digital transformation, algorithmic governance, and the evolving role of internal audit. Keynote addresses were delivered by senior officials from supreme audit institutions and leading academics in the field of public governance.
Workshop: Artificial Intelligence in Public Sector Audit

This half-day virtual workshop explored practical applications of artificial intelligence in audit methodology, including automated document review, predictive risk assessment, and natural language processing for audit evidence analysis. Presenters from Brazil, the Netherlands, and Canada shared their experiences of deploying AI tools in operational audit contexts.
Thematic Workshop: Auditing Government Crisis Responses
The Hague, Netherlands
Building on the Alliance's work on audit innovation during crises, this workshop examined how audit institutions can provide effective oversight of emergency spending while maintaining professional standards. Case studies from the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disaster responses, and economic stabilisation programmes were presented and discussed.

Hosted in partnership with the Controladoria-Geral da Uniao, this workshop provided hands-on training in data analytics techniques for public sector auditors. Participants worked with real-world datasets to develop analytical approaches for fraud detection, performance measurement, and risk assessment in government programmes.
